The US company will provide equipments for BSNL's network expansion in southern India aimed at adding 2.3 million subscribers in the region, it said in a statement. Under the terms of the contract, Motorola will ship GSM network equipment and provide a network services programme, including both software and hardware support, the statement added.
Under the contracts, Motorola will supply its scalable Dimetra IP system, which will enable secure and seamless communications essential for ensuring passenger safety and security and is capable of full interoperability across multiple user segments.
While LG's LG GW620 is priced at Rs 16,490, Motorola's smartphone Milestone would be available at Rs 32,990 based on Android systems.
